Uran Togoo, also known as Uran Mountain, is an extinct volcano in Khutag-Undur soum, Bulgan Province, near the road toward Murun. Its circular crater, grassy slopes and surrounding woodland make it a distinctive landscape for photography and guided walks. Best time to visit
June–September is a practical period for walking and green or autumn landscapes. Check rainfall, wind and trail conditions locally; snow and ice can make colder-season visits difficult.
Getting there
Use Bulgan town as a service base and continue toward Khutag-Undur and Murun with a local driver. The modeled airport road approach ends about 4.8 km from the supplied pin in a straight line. Confirm parking and the final access locally; this offset is not a mapped hiking trail.
What to know
Follow protected-area guidance and existing paths. Leave volcanic rocks, plants and trees undisturbed, avoid open fires and take all litter home. Confirm camping and entry arrangements locally.
Safety
Wear shoes with good grip and bring water, warm layers and sun protection. Crater slopes can be steep and slippery after rain or snow. Keep away from unstable edges and avoid exposed ground during thunderstorms.
